Prep Forward Capital Campaign

Prep Forward is a bold and innovative campaign that will set Prep up for a maximally impactful and purpose-driven future. Together, as we support access to a Prep education, teaching excellence, student learning, and community building, we will ensure Prep students now and in the future will engage in an active education that promotes lives of uncommon purpose. 

Like other successful independent schools across the country, philanthropy is an essential element of our success. Everywhere you look on our campus, you will see the generosity of those who came before us. The philanthropic support of parents, faculty & staff, alumni, and the community at large allows Prep to provide a world-class educational experience in an enriching and idyllic setting.

ACCESS

Expanding Access to a Santa Fe Prep Education

Santa Fe Prep changes lives, and we believe that no admitted student should miss out on a Prep education due to a lack of ability to pay. 38% of our students receive some form of financial assistance — twice the National Association of Independent Schools norms for fully-funded tuition assistance and student diversity and representation — yet it's still not enough. Each year, as many as 10 qualified students miss out on the opportunity of a Prep education because of the lack of financial support. Prep Forward expands access to a Prep education in two ways and helps ensure that our student body reflects the diverse and vibrant city we serve:

The Leonard Family Scholars Endowment 

- This endowment works for all families by minimizing tuition increases for those who pay full tuition.
- A $3 million investment will support 100 students over the next ten years and beyond.

Impact Fund

- This restricted fund provides immediate financial impact and flexibility during times of enrollment fluctuation after endowment and other allocated dollars are spent. 
- A $600,000 investment in this fund will ensure that no admitted student misses out on a Prep education due to the lack of ability to pay.

PEOPLE

Supporting Exceptional Educators in The City Different

Today we face two challenges that risk the future of the excellent education we provide: 

- An increasing demand and smaller supply of talented and experienced teachers
- A high and steadily increasing cost of living in Santa Fe

Big challenges need bold solutions. Talented, experienced educators are the lifeblood and future of our school. Attracting and retaining talented professionals is our top priority, and investing in innovative solutions will ensure our students continue to receive a transformative, purpose-filled education from the best educators in the region. To address the challenges we face, we seek funding for three solutions:

Distinguished Faculty Chairs

- A $2 million endowed investment will support, recognize, and reward up to four exceptional teachers and administrators who have and will make extraordinary contributions to Prep and  its students. 

Down Payment Assistance

- A $1 million investment will support as many as 20 faculty and staff members in purchasing homes in the community where they teach and work.

Teaching Fellowship Program

- A $500,000 investment will launch a new teaching fellowship for early-career teachers and will enrich the pipeline of diverse, talented educators for  the future of Prep and for greater New Mexico.

PROGRAM

Curricular Innovation for a Dynamic World

Prep has always excelled in preparing students for college success and well-rounded lives of purpose, yet we know that STEM education and learning services are two areas we must improve to ensure that all areas of the school live up to our proud traditions. With these critical program enhancements, we will ensure all admitted students develop the skills that will prepare them for any future and provide the holistic support they need to excel in our rigorous academic environment. 

Investments in STEM Programming

- A $500,000 investment will provide for immediate new equipment needs and curriculum enhancements for STEM education, including interdisciplinary learning among all academic disciplines. This investment will also provide staffing support for STEM programs.

Developing Prep’s Center for Learning Excellence

- A $500,000 investment will work to develop critical resources for Prep educators and students with a focus on differentiated learning and executive functioning. This investment will include additional staff dedicated to developing and leading this program.

SPACES

Enhancing Campus in Support of Learning and Teaching

Academic excellence requires inspirational spaces. By investing in a purpose-built STEM building as well as repurposing existing spaces for more effective learning, we will create a more vibrant campus for our Prep community and visitors alike. Campus enhancements include:

STEM Expansion

- A $3.5 million investment will create a new purpose-built STEM learning space adjacent to the Commons Building.

Prep’s Center for Learning Excellence & Classrooms
- An investment of $500,000 will repurpose current, vacated classrooms for additional space for teaching and learning. 
Securing Student & Faculty Parking
- An investment of $700,000 allows us to seize this once-in-a-generation opportunity to expand Prep’s campus and secure student and faculty parking forever.
